Developing a strong and positive organisational culture isn’t simple and there is no one route to success. One of the most important aspects is working with leadership teams to understand and embrace the change – with increasingly shifting and volatile business environment effective leaders ensure that the organisation adapts and evolves to meet those changes.
Working with an organisation to change the culture can be one of the most challenging but rewarding projects for an OD practitioner. Each experience is unique but offers learning and insights that can be applied in different situations. This interactive ODX session is based on applied experience from a range of organisations and details some of the models, approaches and techniques used in successfully managing culture change activity along with some of the pitfalls to avoid!
Elouise Leonard-Cross is an Occupational Psychologist, Chartered Fellow of CIPD and Co-Chair of CIPD North East and currently Director of Learning for NCG, one of the UK’s largest college and training groups. Having spent the last 10 years working primarily in the area of people and organisational development, Louise has supported organisations in achieving cultures that will enable them to realise their vision and strategy. Recent achievements include winning the UK Employee Experience Award for Delivering Cultural Change and the Training Journal OD Programme of the Year.
Laura Farrington is Learning & OD Manager for NCG. Having worked with a range of organisations and within FE for the last five years, she has been responsible for implementing new ways of developing people in one of the UK’s largest colleges. With a background in statistics and data management, Laura takes and insights driven approach to projects and cultural work. Currently completing a Master’s in Education and Professional Development, Laura has particular expertise at creating the conditions for successful change within professional communities.
