CEO Sleepout 2014, Middlesbrough

The Middlesbrough CEO Sleepout took place on Thursday October 9th with business executives giving up a night of comfort to sleep outside. Organised by the Middlesbrough and Teesside Philanthropic Foundation, the event raises awareness of homelessness issues and generates vital funds to support society’s most needy.

CEO Sleepout is a brand new charity set up to fight homelessness and poverty, officially formed in December 2013 by Andy Preston after two successful CEO Sleepout events at both the Middlesbrough and Newcastle United football grounds the charity has grown from strength to strength.

Mellissa Thompson, Business Manager at NRG took part in the event “the CEO Sleepout was a humbling experience and I’m proud to have played a part in raising both money and awareness of such a worthy cause. After the initial trepidation of spending the night in the cold, open to the elements I took some time to reflect and listen to the amazing results that CEO Sleepout has achieved. Listening to some of the stories really made me think about how it must feel to have no support network from family and friends and how it must feel to be totally isolated. For me this was just one night, for others this is a way of life”.

There is still time to support the CEO Sleepout, if you’d like to make donation please visit Melissa’s Just Giving Page.
