Following 10 years of impressive organic growth they are established as one of the UK’s largest privately owned contracting companies with a turnover of £50m per annum. The Newcastle division, with turnover of £20m, is the largest in the group and seeks a Managing Director to implement innovative process improvements to further develop its modern and efficient operational footprint and to further reinforce its reputation as a market leader.

The Role

• Ultimate responsibility for the operational, commercial and financial performance of the division, contributing to strategy and leading the delivery of the business plan.
• To lead and direct a multi-function team of experienced managers and technical staff, to inspire a passion for customer service and quality while maximising profits through continued growth and improved productivity.
• As a member of the Executive Board, to participate in the development and review of strategic business plans for product and market development, diversification and the achievement of organisational excellence.

The Candidate

• Proven track record of achievement within a senior construction management role and demonstrable contribution to development of turnover and profit. Detailed knowledge, experience and understanding of construction economics and market dynamics.
• Proven leadership skills. Articulate, intelligent and capable of promoting belief, enthusiasm and passion for the Company’s philosophy, values and objectives. Track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve challenging objectives in a competitive marketplace.
• Dedicated, committed and ambitious with the ability to demonstrate initiative, strategic insight and entrepreneurial flair.
